Transportation Center of Modi'in is the central inter-connection of rail, bus, taxi, pedestrian with the commercial retail office Town Center or CBD (Central Business District). It is multi-layered on four levels and visually connected with vertical "people movers" and is located within or underneath a 200 meter diameter traffic circle. The central train station – on two levels (-4) and (-3) includes two railway lines and platforms, waiting areas, ticket areas, pedestrian control, and commerce. The central Bus station – on level (-1) includes platforms, gates, ticket counters, and waiting areas. The grade level includes arterial and urban roads – some underpass for through traffic and some upper ones that connect to the city traffic system including, taxis drop-off, inner city bus connections and public parking areas – all in the heart of the main business center.
The scope of work included a plan for managing and coordinating the design and construction of a town square, integration and connections with the transportation center, and a 200m diameter traffic circle including a bridge over the main city park. Management, coordination and supervision of the project included approvals from the Ministry of Transport and Israel National Railways, as well as the City of Modi'in and the team of consultants including engineers, land consultants, traffic engineers.
The construction phasing of the transportation center required four separate but linked series of structures that resemble bridges.
